As a part of the course in American government and civics required for high school graduation pursuant to subparagraph (D) of paragraph (1) of subdivision (a) of Section 51225.3, all pupils shall read and be taught all of the following:
(a) The Declaration of Independence.
(b) The United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights.
(c) Substantive selections from the Federalist Papers.
(d) The Emancipation Proclamation.
(e) The Gettysburg Address.
(f) George Washington's Farewell Address.
